Back Pain

Back pain can have many impacts on our daily lives, whether it is preventing us from lifting our children, participating in our favourite sport, or even just stopping us sleeping at night, it can be a frustrating and annoying thing to live with.

However, the good news is there are lots of things we can do to help. 1) Move frequently, the old advice that bed rest is best is no longer the case, in fact this could be doing more harm than good. We should be aiming to move frequently during the day standing up from our desk every 40 minutes. Going out for a 30-minute walk once a day can also make a massive change to our back health. 2) Visit the Chiropractor (I know we are a bit biased on this one!). Chiropractors specialise in keeping your spine moving, whether you are in pain and seeking relief or if you are just trying to keep your spine at its optimum, chiropractic adjustments play a really important part. 3) Check your office set up, we have talked previously about this and our blog on home office set up can be found here; https://www.acesofamilychiropractic.com/post/is-your-home-office-causing-your-back-and-neck-pain 4) Keep hydrated, we are made up of water and when we become dehydrated our bodies take fluid from our muscle, discs, and joints to keep our vital organs working, so try to drink about 2 litres of water a day.
