Are you tired of feeling held back by aches and pains? Or are you feeling confused about what chiropractic is and how it could benefit you? Well, this week’s blog is for you! We are going to be breaking down chiropractic in a simple and easy-to-understand way.
So, what is chiropractic?
At its core, chiropractic is all about the health and function of your spine and nervous system. Your spine is an incredible structure that protects your spinal cord, which, along with your brain, forms the communication highway that connects every part of your body. When your spine isn't moving at its best, it can impact this communication and the function and mobility of the spine. Eventually frustrating symptoms like joint pain, back pain, and neck pain can start, which is the body letting you know something isn’t right.
Who can benefit from chiropractic?
People often first explore chiropractic due to some frustrating ache or pain. Chiropractic care is a natural way to help with many conditions, such as back pain, sciatica, headaches, neck pain, shoulder concerns, tension, and joint pain. But many people soon realise that it can go beyond pain too, helping to keep their body working optimally to prevent these issues from starting in the first place.
The beauty of chiropractic is that it can benefit people of all ages and abilities, from newborns to our more senior community members!
What can I expect from a chiropractic visit?
Your journey starts with an initial consultation, where we'll dive into your health history and conduct tests to get to the root of your concerns. Then, whether you're visiting proactively to maintain optimal health or seeking relief from discomfort, we'll work with you to develop a personalised plan that fits your needs and goals. During your following visits, we'll use various techniques to deliver chiropractic adjustments, aiming to create more ease within the body. Some associate an adjustment with a ‘popping’ or ‘clicking’ sound. If you hear a noise, it is just the release of gas within the joint as it moves during the adjustment which is perfectly normal, but a noise isn’t always present or required for an adjustment to be effective.
